SUMMARY:Catching Shadows on The Plains - Edward S. Curtis Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Born in Wisconsin in 1868\, Edward S. Curtis developed an early interest in photography. At the age of twelve\, he built his own camera using a lens his father brought home from the Civil War. By the age of seventeen\, he began his formal apprenticeship in photography. Within three short years\, he launched his own studio\, Curtis and Guptill\, Photographers and Photoengravers. However\, his big break came in 1906\, when he partnered with J.P. Morgan on a lifelong project that would make national headlines—The North American Indian. \nEdward S. Curtis—Self Portrait \n\n\n\nIn partnership with prominent art collector\, curator\, and friend\, Tim Peterson\, Woolaroc Museum is proud to announce the grand opening of their exhibition\, Catching Shadows on the Plains. This stunning exhibition pays homage to Curtis\, who devoted decades of his life to preserving indigenous culture\, including the Plains tribes who were featured in the project. It is on display in the Woolaroc Museum’s gallery through December 31st\, 2026.  “Without their collaboration\, our country would not have these incredible photographs to appreciate and learn from\,” states Shiloh Thurman\, Museum Director at Woolaroc. \n\n\nGrand Opening for Members Only on Saturday\, April 25th\, at 6 pm.\nThe exhibition is on display to the general public from April 26 through December 31\, 2026.

SUMMARY:Fall Traders Encampment
DESCRIPTION:Woolaroc will host the Fall Traders Encampment Thursday-Saturday at Woolaroc’s Living History Camp. Nestled near the shore of Crystal Lake\, this camp is one of the most beautiful of its kind and the perfect setting for a weekend of historical retreat. \nHosted by Woolaroc’s Mountain Men\, the camp has quickly become a favorite for traders and reenactors from across the country. The camp will be historically accurate\, recreating what a settlement of this type would have looked like in the 1840s. \nThe Traders Encampment is open to the public\, and guests are encouraged to park and walk through the camp. There is no additional admission required; regular admission at the gate includes the Fall Traders Camp. Many of the campers will set up their tents or tipis and have period crafts for the public to view and purchase. \nPARTICIPANTS CAN DOWNLOAD REGISTRATION HERE

SUMMARY:The Gathering at the ROC Car Show
DESCRIPTION:This car show is like no other. It’s been described as “a traditional hot rod show for the discerning man” by its organizers. They wanted to put on a laid-back show where fellow hot rodders could cruise back roads\, enjoy each other’s company\, and experience the outdoors. Woolaroc seemed to be the perfect host site for participants to gather and for our guests to marvel at over 200 classic custom cars! \nIncluded with standard gate admission. \nWoolaroc is the host site only.
