Get ready to journey back to the 1840s as Woolaroc once again hosts its beloved Fall Traders Encampment in October. Fall Traders Encampment is an immersive historical experience set in the breathtaking Mountain Man Camp. Set near Crystal Lake, this hidden gem transforms into a living history village for one unforgettable weekend.
A Living History Experience
Organized by Woolaroc’s Mountain Men, the encampment draws traders and re-enactors from across the country. The result? A vibrant and authentic recreation of a frontier trading settlement, complete with tipis, canvas tents, and the rich sights, sounds, and smells of the 19th century fur trade era.
Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a curious traveler, or a family looking for a unique weekend outing, this event offers a rare glimpse into America’s rugged past. Stroll through the encampment, chat with re-enactors in full period dress, and explore hand-crafted goods ranging from leatherwork and blacksmith items to beadwork, textiles, and more.
Public Welcome – No Extra Admission
The Fall Traders Encampment is open to the public and included with regular Woolaroc admission. Guests can park and walk through the camp, soaking in the atmosphere and learning directly from the campers themselves. Many traders will have period crafts and wares available for purchase, making this both an educational and interactive shopping experience.
